How to use it
- Choose Pixels for an exact size, or Percentage to scale everything by the same amount.
- In pixel mode, fill in a width, a height, or both. With Keep proportions on, the image fits inside the box you set.
- Add your images, check the new dimensions under each one, and download.
Width, height, or both
With Keep proportions ticked, the tool never stretches anything, and with Don’t enlarge ticked, images already smaller than the size you set are left at their own size rather than blown up. Give only a width and the height follows; give only a height and the width follows. Give both, and the image is scaled to fit inside that box, so a landscape photo in a 1000 × 1000 box comes out 1000 pixels wide and less tall. Untick it only when you need an exact size and do not mind distortion, which is rare. To get an exact shape without distortion, crop to the right aspect ratio first, then resize.

Power-of-two sizes for textures
Game engines and 3D software prefer textures whose sides are powers of two, such as 512, 1024 and 2048. Tick Round to a power of two and each side snaps to the nearest one after any other resizing, so a 1000 × 600 image becomes 1024 × 512. It works in both pixel and percentage modes.
How the resizing is done
Big reductions are done in halving steps, then a final high-quality pass. Shrinking a 6000-pixel photo straight to 600 pixels in one jump tends to produce shimmering, jagged detail; stepping down keeps fine lines smooth. Questions people ask
Does resizing reduce file size?
Yes, usually a lot. Halving the width and height leaves a quarter of the pixels, and the file shrinks roughly in step.
Can I make an image bigger?
You can, but enlarging only spreads the existing detail over more pixels. The result will look softer. There is no way to invent real detail that was never captured.
Will resizing change the format?
Not unless you choose to. Same as original keeps JPG as JPG, PNG as PNG and WebP as WebP. HEIC and AVIF photos are saved as JPG, and other formats as PNG.
Can I resize to a file size, like under 200 KB?
Not directly. Resize to a sensible pixel size, then use the compressor and adjust the quality until you are under the limit.
