Shooting tips that save editing
Daylight from a window, a sheet of white card behind and under the product, and the phone held level will get you most of the way to a professional-looking photo. A plain backdrop also makes background removal work cleanly.
Shoot square, or leave space around the product, so padding or cropping to a square later does not cut anything off. Photograph every product from the same distance and angle so the listing grid looks even.
Before uploading, look at each photo as a stranger would. Reflections in shiny products, mail on the bench and family photos on the wall all show up more than you expect.
